THE TEAM
Bar Positano has a team of young, spirited Italians who are super passionate about Italian food, culture and tradition. After coming to Australia they have continued to seek quality Italian bars and restaurants so they can experience a little piece of home, no matter the occasion.
The team have a wealth of knowledge in Italian food, particularly the southern regions, known for its delicious sweets, strong espresso and creamy gelato. They pride themselves on delivering high quality products, with professional and friendly customer service.
Collectively, the team have many years experience working in the hospitality industry both in Italy and Australia. From experienced chefs, waiters, sommeliers, baristas, pizzaioli, pastry chefs and bakers, they work together to ensure the business, brand and product is as authentic and damn delicious as it can get!
Luca
The master planner and goal setter. With experience in the events industry he knows a party and how to plan it! You’ll find him behind the scenes or behind the counter, ensuring we are either on the road, at public festivals and events or catering for private parties and weddings. His favourite pizza is Margherita, and unlike most Italians, he hates parmesan cheese!
Andrea
The numero uno or master in command. You’ll find Andrea on the daily grind, the main face of the business who manages the day-to-day operations and serves up your daily fix of whatever it is you are craving! With experience in a variety of customer service roles in the hospitality and travel industry, he has travelled for high-end clients such as Bvlgari, Chanel and Dior for product launches and corporate catered events. In his free time he enjoys going to the beach and generally living an easy life.
Davide
Mr. Vino, a wine connoisseur and in Italian product enthusiast. Previously working as a sales representative for Italian food and wine distributors he knows his stuff! Reigning from Milano, Davide brings a bit of northern sophistication to the bunch, providing professional high-end customer service with a deep knowledge of everything on the menu.
David
An english name, but don’t let that fool you! This guy from Bologna has experience working for Sydney’s leading catering companies and knows how to whip up a killer cocktail! Friendly and enthusiastic, David brings a great energy to the team and will always serve guests with a smile. In his down time he enjoys going to the beach and cycling.
Marco & Luca
These twins come as a package so we can only introduce them in the same way! Both skilled in the art of pizza and bread making, between the both of them they have worked in over 40 pizzerias in Sydney alone, so they know everything and everyone! With a blog and cooking show on the rise named ‘Twins Lab’, these two make the best pizza’s you’ll find outside of Naples. When they aren’t working they are creating content for their blog, developing new recipes and educating people on traditional Neapolitan recipes.
Matteo
Also known as the ‘Gelato King’. Matteo has made his mark creating delicious gelato which is now rated one of the best in Sydney! With a family history in gelato-making, his father owned many factories in Rome, where he learnt first hand the secrets of a winning recipe. Be sure not to miss the opportunity to try his gelato!
Marco
The all-rounder, helper, fixer, extra hands on deck. Marco is always behind the scenes ensuring a smooth operation and successful event. He has experience in the catering and events industry, working with many clients on bringing their special event or wedding to life! You can see his friendly face at special events when we need team effort to deliver our absolute best!
